DENVER -- Hockey season is back in the Mile High City, and Avalanche fans will have more than the game to cheer about.

A brand new projection system will turn the ice into a three dimensional pregame show.

“As technology gets better these systems get better,” Executive Director of Game Presentation Steve Johnston said. “I think we are the fifth or sixth team to have one permanently installed and we’ll be using it every game.”

18 brand new, state of the art projectors turn the ice into a huge screen with better than HD quality video.

“With all the new stuff going on, it’s so exciting that it’s finally here,” Johnston said. “I think so much of us have just been waiting, let’s get that puck dropped and get going with this.”

The pregame show will be before every Avalanche and Nuggets home game. The basketball court will be turned into a video screen for the Nuggets games.

It is quite the show to see. Bottom line – don’t be late for Avalanche or Nuggets games.
