Searchers find body in Eldorado Canyon State Park, believe it’s missing hiker

ELDORADO CANYON STATE PARK, Colo. — Searchers looking for a hiker who has been missing in Eldorado Canyon State Park since Saturday found a  body Wednesday they believe is him., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.

The body was found near Rattlesnake Gulch west of and off the trail. A Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman could not confirm how the man died, but she did say crews were working to bring the body out of the canyon.

David Robles was last heard from at 1:15 p.m. Saturday when he said he was going to hike in the canyon. When he didn’t return as expected, he was reported missing around 6 p.m. and a search was launched.

About 50 people from several agencies along with search dogs have searched for the man. His wife and two children also participated in the search.

His body was found in rugged terrain in the area where the search has taken place for the past few days.

In a sheriff’s office news release, the family extended its gratitude for everyone who helped in the search.
