DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A man who allegedly aimed a gun at a driver on Interstate 25 near a northbound rest stop in Douglas County has been arrested, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Just before 9 a.m., a driver reported someone pointed a gun at him while driving on northbound I-25 near mile marker 171 south of Castle Rock, the sheriff’s office said. The driver lost track of the car, but a vehicle description went out.

The vehicle was located by someone in the school marshal program and sheriff’s deputies made a felony stop of the suspect on I-25 near Orchard Road.

The sheriff’s office said a gun was found in the suspect’s car, along with a large amount of marijuana. It’s not known if the gun was loaded.

The victim did not describe the incident as related to road rage or drugs, but the sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect was arrested without incident and could face felony menacing charges.
