DENVER -- Four women were assaulted by the same man near the 16th Street Mall on Monday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

According to investigators, Jerry Gordon Odell tried to sexually assault the women just before 8 a.m. Monday. Odell, who police believe might be a transient, was arrested Tuesday and was being held without bond.

The first assault happened about 7:35 a.m. in the 1500 block of Stout Street. The victim told police that Odell approached her and said "you’re so pretty" and then asked her to "give him a little something."

Police said Odell then grabbed the woman near her breasts and eventually fled.

According to a police report, a second victim said Odell approached her, blocked her from walking and grabbed her arm by force. The woman was able to pull away and call RTD security.

A third victim spoke on a condition of anonymity and said a suspect grabbed her inside the lobby of her loft building at 15th and Stout streets.

“This man I never saw before rushed up to me and grabbed me, almost like a bear hug,” she said. “He started to lick my face and then I tried to turn around and get away from him."

She said the man threw her phone to the ground and continued to grab her breast, butt and crotch. After she yelled for help, and one of her neighbors ran down the lobby and scared off the suspect.

“It was terrifying. I was screaming as loud as I could,” the victim said.

A fourth victim was attacked near the 1500 block of Champa Street. According to a police report, Odell wrapped his arms around the woman’s waist, and he grabbed under her skirt and tried "ramming her with his pelvis."
