Avid skier and snowboarders are already making plans to update and upgrade their winter gear and equipment for the coming season by taking advantage of the deep discounts offered at the annual SKI REX ski sale available at all four Colorado Ski & Golf (CSG) locations along the Front Range along with Boulder Ski Deals and Colorado Ski & Sports in Lone Tree. Ground zero for serious shoppers is the Aurora Colorado Ski & Golf store where the adjacent CSG warehouse delivers a continuous supply of fresh inventory during the huge sale that begins on Friday, Sept. 4 at 9am and runs for two weeks through Sunday, Sept. 20.
Discounts ranging from 30-75 percent off skis, boots, snowboards, bindings, clothing and accessories for adults, teens and children is the signature attraction of this 22-year old sale that unofficially marks the start of the coming ski and snowboard season. And no matter how hot the deals are under the big tent in the Aurora CSG parking lot, air conditioning keeps shoppers cool. Along with discounts on overstocked and specially purchased inventory from last season, SKI REX is also the place to snag the newest gear and 2015-16 year models at pre-season prices.
MORE THAN JUST AN EQUIPMENT SALE
SKI REX is also the most convenient time for parents to get their kids into Junior Trade In, a value-centric ski/snowboard exchange program for young skiers and rider. The easy-on-the-budget program provides deeply discounted prices on full set-ups (skis, bindings, poles, boots, safety check) for both new and used equipment for children and teens who enroll in the annual program. The cost for the entire first season on used but fully tuned equipment is $99.99 or $199.99 for a brand new equipment set-up. For every subsequent season the child participates in Junior Trade In through CSG, the price drops to $49.99/year for used equipment and $99.99 for new equipment. Participants are encouraged to sign up early to get the widest selection of sizes and brands. Inventory shrinks as ski season gets closer. The program is available to youth snowboarders at a slightly higher price.
Got old gear? A local furniture manufacturer will be on site at the Aurora Ski & Golf store to construct, showcase and sell creative furniture designed from old skis and snowboards—an artistic and functional program that keeps old equipment out of landfills and is a continuation of Colorado’s Ski & Golf’s campaign to repurpose or recycle unwanted gear.
If shopping works up a big appetite, Sam’s Deli, will be on site with breakfast burritos each morning and a food truck will be around to provide sustenance for the lunch crowd.
A bevy of season passes and lift ticket options are also being sold during SKI REX. The Epic Local Pass provides access to Colorado’s top resorts and also allows for on-snow fun at the country’s premier resorts including Park City. Park City becomes the largest resort in America this season with more than 7,300 skiable acres. At $579, the Epic Local Pass pays for itself in four days and features unlimited, unrestricted days at Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin – plus 10 total days at Vail and Beaver Creek.
