WINDSOR, Colo. — No charges are pending in the drowning death of 4-year-old, the Windsor Police Department said Monday.

Charges aren’t likely to be filed, but the investigation has not been completed, Lt. Rich Higuera said. Authorities said it appeared to be a tragic accident.

The girl, Skylar Sue Liston, died Aug. 1 after she was pulled from an above-ground pool unresponsive. She was attending a birthday party at a home on Orchid Court.

The group of about 30 people reportedly had just finished eating and were about to cut the birthday cake when the little girl, who turned 4 years old six days earlier, slipped away.

Skylar was buried in Fort Collins on Thursday, according to her obituary online.

A Go Fund Me page  was set up to help the family with funeral costs.  As of Monday, the fund surpassed the goal and raised more than $11,000.
