EDWARDS, Colo. — Some members of the Arrowhead Alpine Club in Eagle County rescued an owl that got tangled in a soccer goal net at the base of Arrowhead Mountain this week.

The owl was tangled in the net overnight, apparently trapped there while hunting, the Vail Daily reported. As it thrashed around trying to get free, the more tangled it became.

One of the members took some scissors and some heavy ski gloves and gently freed the owl in about 30 minutes.

The owl was soaked in water because of the sprinkler system at the Arrowhead Alpine Club. After freeing the owl, it took about an hour for it to dry before it was put in a tree, then it flew away.
