Motorcyclist killed by bus at Mills shopping center, identified

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A motorcyclist has been killed in an accident involving a passenger charter bus from Nebraska at the Colorado Mills shopping center on Sunday.

It happened at about 12:26 p.m. at 14500 W. Colfax Ave.

Police say that upon arrival, officers and members of the West Metro Fire Department found that the driver of the motorcycle had suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead on scene.

The deceased victim was identified as Frank Molinaro, 24, from Westminster, Lakewood Police reported on Monday.

No one was injured in the charter bus, according to Lakewood police, but the driver was taken to the hospital for health related concerns.

The Nebraska bus driver was identified as 71-year-old, Lois Kimsey, was charged with careless driving resulting in death, according to Lakewood officials.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Police say it is not believed that speed or alcohol was a contributing factor, but toxicology tests will be conducted.
