Barricaded suspect in downtown apartment arrested without incident

A man wanted out of Texas was taken into custody without incident after barricading himself in a downtown Denver apartment on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

DENVER — A suspect wanted out of Texas for a “serious” warrant” was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after barricading himself in a downtown apartment complex.

Police arrived at the complex at 19th and Arapahoe streets about 10 p.m. Monday. The man was taken into custody without incident about 1 a.m.

Several apartment and one city block were evacuated as negotiators worked to get the man out of the apartment.

The man’s identity was not released. There were no injuries reported.
