Vehicle drives off road into Bessemer ditch in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. — A driver drove off the road into the Bessemer ditch near Adams and Polk St. on Wednesday morning.

The 84-year-old driver was pulled out of the vehicle by fire crews shortly after the accident, KRDO reported.

The driver was taken to Parkview Medical Center to be tested for hypothermia.

Firefighters said the water in the ditch is about 30 degrees.

Pueblo Fire Department tweeted this picture of the submerged car.

There have been no additional reports on the condition of the driver. Firefighters urge drivers to use caution in the area.
