Man arrested for allegedly stabbing wife with kitchen knife, hatchet

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Police arrested a 68-year-old man Sunday for allegedly stabbing his wife in what Clear Creek authorities say was a domestic dispute.

The incident happened Saturday at the couple’s home at 1047 Old Squaw Pass Road.

Leland Thomas Kintzele allegedly stabbed his wife, Patricia Kintzele, 52, multiple times with a large kitchen knife and a hatchet before stabbing himself.

Both were transported to St. Anthony West Hospital, where Patricia Kintzele remains in serious condition, according to hospital officials.

Leland Kintzele was arrested for attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and domestic violence.
