Fire threatens homes in El Paso County, residents evacuated

ELLICOTT, Colo.  — A fire in El Paso County burned 78 acres on Saturday afternoon.

The fire started on the 21000 block of Jones Road near Colorado Springs, KRDO reported.

After several hours, around 7 p.m. the fire was 100 percent contained.

Earlier in the day there were mandatory evacuations in place, but as of 7:30 p.m. all evacuation had been lifted.
