DENVER — Four lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 were closed Tuesday morning after a five-vehicle accident just before Peoria Street.

The Denver Police Department said there are multiple patients and some have serious bodily injuries.

A picture from the accident scene put out on Twitter shows traffic was only getting by in the far left lane.

Traffic was snarled and backed up to before Havana Avenue.

There is no estimate for when the lanes will reopen.
