ROGHEDA, Ireland — Karma!
A man in Ireland was trying to smash the window of a car with a brick but instead had the brick bounce off the window and smack him in the face.
The incident was caught on a CCTV camera and showed the would-be thief getting knocked out.
The car owner keeps a CCTV camera running outside of his Pheasant Pub, he told The Independent in Ireland.
“When I saw him, he was lying there stone cold on the ground and his face was in ribbons,” Gerry Brady said. “My first thought was that ‘this guy is after getting the (expletive) knocked out of him,’ while my girlfriend said it must have been a hit and run.”
Brady told the newspaper that after a few moments of trying to help, things took a twist when the would-be robber tried to blackmail Brady.
“He pulled himself up and said he wanted 50 for a taxi. I said ‘Not a chance, I’ve to pay for a new window mate.’ That’s when he leaned in and told me he’d burn me out of the pub.
“I see you, I know you. I’ll burn you out. I’ll tell the Gardas you beat me up. I’ll go to my solicitor,” Brady said the man told him.
Brady went to a gas station and called police.
“When the Garda picked him up, he started claiming that I attacked him. He was still telling them that in the station when I came in with the footage of him getting knocked out by his own brick,” Brady said.
“You should have heard the Garda laughing when they saw the video. They were in stitches.”
