Body of missing Boulder runner Randal Evans ID’d by coroner

BOULDER, Colo. — The Boulder County Coroner’s Office confirmed the body found partially covered in snow near a trailhead north of Boulder was that of Randal Evans, who had been reported missing.

Evans’ body was found about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday near Cobalt Trail north of the city. The cause of death was not released, pending further investigation.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said there were no signs of foul play and that the body had likely been there for a few days.

Boulder police had been searching for Evans, 52, who was last seen near his home in the 1600 block of Zamia Avenue in northwest Boulder about 10 a.m. Feb. 13. He left home in running clothes without a cellphone or wallet.
