FORT CARSON, Colo. — A rollover accident took the life of one Ft. Carson solider and injured six others on Friday night.

The accident happened during training at the Ft. Carson training area at 9:30 p.m., according to a statement from Ft. Carson representative Dani Johnson. A Stryker eight-wheeled fighting vehicle somehow overturned. The cause of the crash was under investigation.

Staff Sgt. Justin L. Holt, 31, assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, died in the crash. Holt, originally from Bogata, Texas, deployed twice to Iraq during his 10 years, 10 months in the Army.

Four of the six injured soldiers were treated and released from local hospitals, according to the Army.  Two soldiers remained hospitalized Sunday at Penrose Main Saint Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs.  Both were considered stable, though one remained in serious condition.
