WHEAT RIDGE, Colo -- Just before noon on Wednesday a robber walked into a Quick Save on 4895 Ward Rd. to rob the place, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

But, according to deputies, the man said he recognized the clerk and decided not to rob the store.

"I was going to rob this place, but I know you," the suspect told the clerk, deputies said.

He then asked the clerk, "Do you know me?" The clerk replied that he didn't, deputies said.

"Good” the suspect replied and walked out of the Quick Save, while giving a thumbs up sign to the clerk.

Shortly after a 7-Eleven, located at W. 58th Ave. and Ward Road in Arvada was robbed, deputies said.

The 7-Eleven is just over a mile away from the Quick Save.

Witnesses said the second robbery was committed by a man fitting the same description as the suspect in the Quick Save, deputies said.

He is described as a male, wearing a blue hoodie jacket, blue bandana, jeans, and red and yellow shoes, deputies said.

The suspect's vehicle is described as an older-model, 1990's, full-size, gray or silver four-door sedan. It has dark purple tinted windows and no visible license plates, according to deputies.
