GULF BREEZE, Fla. — Dash cam video catches a routine traffic stop with a roller coaster of emotions.
Sgt. Kerstan Tatro pulled over Amy Lee Giorgio, 30, for a speeding violation Monday after he noticed she was driving erratically, allegedly going 65 mph in a 35-mph zone, WALA reported.
Giorgio was being defiant and the officer tried to take the keys out of the ignition of the car, but she drives off while Tatro is still halfway in the car.
The officer gets dragged by the vehicle for awhile before he rolls into the median.
A lot of bystanders came to make sure that the officer was okay, including a teenage girl who at the time did not know the injured officer was her father.
Tatro’s teenage daughter was on her way home from the mall, according to WALA, and the video shows her getting out of a red car to join the group of bystanders surrounding him.
When she realizes the officer she stopped to check on was her dad, she screams and begins crying, “Dad, are you okay?”
“Oh my god,” she continued crying. “That’s my dad!” The others in the crowd try to comfort her.
Tatro is married with five children. He is recovering from a compound fracture in his right arm, KFOR reported.
