DENVER -- Four hundred people packed a Denver theater Monday night to celebrate the premiere of a new movie featuring Seth Rogan and also to celebrate Colorado's cannabis revolution.
The movie, "The Interview", is set to hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day but Denver movie fans were allowed a sneak peak if they RSVP'd online.
"It was about a four-hour drive up here, we're kinda' excited and ready to get going," said Tom Willis, a movie fan from Gunnison.
The film focuses on two journalists' trip to North Korea and a plot by the CIA to kill the leader of the republic. However, the plot was overshadowed by its star after Seth Rogen tweeted his plans to get people high before the screening.
On twitter, the actor wrote:
"We are going to do a screening of #TheInterviewMovie in Colorado where I get baked with everyone first, and we can smoke weed in the theater."
The City of Denver bans public consumption of marijuana and a sign was posted outside the theater reminding patrons of the law. All cameras, cellphones, and electronics were banned from the theater to ensure privacy of the event.
