DENVER — An alleged attack on a Denver sheriff’s deputy sparked a wild chase and a violent crash early Saturday, the Denver Police Department reported.
A male suspect was involved in a physical confrontation at a Denny’s restaurant about 1:45 a.m., eventually assaulting a deputy, DPD reported. The suspect fled in a white Cadillac with police in pursuit.
The suspect eventually crashed his vehicle into a building near Alameda Avenue and Federal Boulevard, causing his car to roll over.
The suspect was hospitalized. Neither his condition, nor the assaulted deputy’s, were known.
The intersection near the crash was closed for several hours.
