Police are investigating an incident in Houston, Texas in which a 3-year-old boy shot a family member in the face on Saturday.

20-year-old Patrick Sanders is listed in critical condition after suffering a point-blank gunshot wound to the head while sleeping on Saturday, the Houston Press reported.

Police believe Sanders was napping on the couch in the living room of his apartment when a handgun in his pocket slipped out and fell onto the floor. Sanders awoke to find it in the hands of the 3-year-old boy, police said.

The victim apparently tried to snatch the gun from the infant, but the weapon fired. Sanders was struck in the face.

The child was not injured during the incident, according to the paper.

Editor’s note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the child was three-months-old.

If you want to own and carry a gun, don’t get your ques from Holllywood!!
Don’t store it in a drawer in the hall, or next to the bed. Don’t stash it in the couch cushions!
DON’T carry a gun tucked into your waistband or in your pocket…..ITS A GUN!!!
    Show respect for it.

Purchase a proper holster, or better yet, put the gun in a safe when your at home!!!

Just wondering why non of these comments say how ridiculous this sstory is! A 3 month old shot a man in the face-and your not questioning this?! I have a 5 month old who has done many baby milestones early-first off he’s still learning to hold a bottel, can’t crawl, sit up for very long by himself! So for me this story is comical!

Good work guys. I see you finally changed it to 3 year old even though the link still says 3 month old. Oh look at that, you now refer to a 3 year old as an infant. Terrible.
