A boy was taken to Denver Health with serious injuries after he was struck by a car at Zuni Street and West Mosier Place while walking to school on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.

DENVER — A boy on his way to school was hit by a car in southwest Denver on Wednesday and was taken to Denver Health with serious bodily injuries, the Denver Police Department said.

The boy was hit at Zuni Street and West Mosier Place just before 7 a.m. Denver Police say the driver, who stayed at the scene, was cited for not driving with headlines on and careless driving.

The boy has nonlife-threatening injuries.
