Report: Katy Perry to perform at halftime of Super Bowl
NEW YORK — The game is always highly anticipated. And so is the halftime show.
ESPN cited multiple reports that pop star Katy Perry will perform at Super Bowl XLIX.
Perry is currently on her Prismatic World Tour.
In August, the Wall Street Journal reported Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay were asked about performing but that the NFL wanted the artists to play to perform because it draws the largest television audience of the year.
On Saturday, Perry said during an appearance on ESPN’s “College GameDay” that she’s “not the kind of girl to pay to play the Super Bowl.”
Super Bowl XLIX will be played Feb. 1 in Glendale, Ariz.
A record 111.5 million viewers watched Super Bowl XLVIII between the Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. Bruno Mars performed at halftime.
