EVERETT, Wash. — Who could ever have predicted that a coffee chain called Java Juggs may not be a pillar of the local community?

Police say the owner of the Washington coffee shops allegedly made millions of dollars by using the hut as a front for a bizarre stripping and prostitution operation.

Carmela Panico, herself a former stripper, was arrested and charged with prostitution and money laundering Thursday. She allegedly led a business wherein customers would pay $20 for a $6 cup of coffee, and then the attractive female employees would expose their breasts or genitals, according to the Herald Net.

Police also allege that some straightforward prostitution was happening.

The operation ran for more than three years, allegedly netting more than $2 million.

At least one police officer was apparently involved: Last summer, a sheriff’s sergeant was arrested for allegedly tipping Panico off to a sting directed at Java Juggs. He is charged with trading the information for sex.

The big crime is a $6 cup of coffee. Tell us again there is no inflation, and unemployment is under 10%. Right……..
