Young woman injured in Boulder Creek attack

BOULDER, Colo. -- A 19-year-old woman was allegedly struck in the head by a stranger on Sunday night as she sat near the Children's Fishing Pond along the Boulder Creek Path, police said.

The woman was wearing headphones as she sat on the bench about 9:44 p.m., police said. At some point, an unknown male apparently struck her in the head with his bare hands, then fled on foot.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

Police encouraged residents to remain aware of their surroundings, especially at night. Anyone with information in the case was asked to call police at 303-441-4329.
