Jennifer Broome takes us up to Judd  Falls for a breathtaking view.

When you are in the Crested Butte area you should put hiking to Judd Falls on your activities list.  Bursting with wildflowers along the trail, it a colorful hike.  Deer are also a common sight on this hike.  The trailhead is on Schofield Pass Road about 8.5 miles north of Crested Butte.  It is near the town of Gothic, which is home of the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory.  From Schofield Pass Road, the hike is about 2 miles round trip.  There is a small upper parking lot from the trailhead, but you do need a high profile vehicle for it.  If you want to add mileage to your hike, continue on to Copper Lake.  This is a fantastic hike for the entire family.
