FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Colorado Bureau of Investigation canceled an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old boy out of Larimer County late Wednesday night.

Later on Thursday morning, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office confirmed they had arrested Jarred Lee Spencer, the father who investigators say kidnapped his 3-year-old son Blue Lee Spencer.

Jarred has been charged with second-degree kidnapping, felony menacing, third-degree assault, false improvement, child abuse and domestic violence.

The sheriff's office wrote in a press release that deputies were dispatched to a home in Wellington shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday regarding a protection order violation, which was reported by Jarred's father.

Jared's father also told investigators he believed his son was having a paranoid episode and was speaking of a possible bomb in his truck.

When they arrived on scene of the protection order violation, deputies found an adult female with injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital.

In the process of their investigation into the incident, deputies received information that the the woman's 3-year-old son Blue may have been kidnapped by his father, Jarred. After receiving that information, authorities issued an Amber Alert just after 10 p.m.

That alert was canceled at approximately 11:30 p.m., when both Jarred and Blue were located by authorities in Fort Collins, which is just over 10 miles south of Wellington.
