Denver area McDonald’s restaurants to give free backpacks to students Thursday

DENVER — Some McDonald’s restaurants in Denver announced they will give free backpacks to the first 100 students who are accompanied by a parent or guardian beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday.

More than 2,000 backpacks will be given away to help Denver area students prepare for the start of the new school year.

The program is possible through a partnership with McDonald’s food supplier Mile Hi Foods and their Taddonio Family Foundation as well as the Golden State Foods Foundation.

The backpack giveaway takes place at only the following locations:
