Police search for suspect accused of severe beating and robbery of man

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A suspect was on the run Tuesday who police say severely beat a man during a robbery in Lakewood on Monday.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and remained in a coma Tuesday night.

It happened in the 1200 block of South Pierce Street in Lakewood.

Detectives say the suspect is 30-year-old Charlie Robert Brammeier. He's wanted for Attempt First Degree Murder and Aggravated Robbery.

Police say the suspect is aware law enforcement is looking to capture him.

It's believed he's driving either a silver 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with Colorado license plate 333-LDP or a black Isuzu Trooper with Colorado license plate 186-ZAC. Police say Brammeier is armed and dangerous.

Detectives say the circumstances of the robbery and assault are still under investigation.
