Stabbing suspect surrenders after brief standoff in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — A woman was in serious condition after being stabbed early Sunday, the Aurora Police Department said.

Officers responded about 3 a.m. to a reported of a fight in the 1500 block of Sedalia Way, APD said. A male suspect initially refused to come out of a home, prompting a brief standoff.

While police were waiting for a warrant to enter the home, the man came out under his own power, APD said. He was arrested.

Police found that a woman had been stabbed, leaving her in serious condition. The names of the parties were not released, and their relationship was unknown.
