DENVER -- Four people in one family found themselves in need of rescue when their car got swamped under water during Tuesday afternoon's storm. It happened at an underpass near 38th Avenue and Inca Street.

The Martin family was trying to move through the high water. "A big truck came by just real heavy. I just drenched the car and the car died," says Ocean Martin.

They could only watch as the water grew higher and higher. "The inside of the car started filling up with water. How fast was it going? It was up to the seat."

The Denver Fire Department arrived. "It was about five feet. I had to send the crew in with water rescue equipment to pull them out."

It took crews another hour to get the Martins' Ford Taurus towed away.
