CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A photo of a man holding a cat by its scruff while pointing a gun at it has a lot of people upset.

The man in the photo has been identified as Thomas Mcguinness. According to WBBH-TV, the Charlotte County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office has investigated along with animal control officers.

They found no evidence the cat was actually harmed.

However after the station published a story about the photo, thousands of angry viewers have condemned Mcguinness.

“It angers us beyond belief,” Charlotte County Animal Control Division Manager Lt. Brian Jones told the station.

The post has since been taken down, but Mcguinness wrote in another post, “don’t know why everybody so mad about a cat we only shot it twice.”

Other photos on Mcguinness’ Facebook page show him pointing a gun at a dog and at himself, the station reported.
