DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Sheriff’s deputies in Douglas County asked for the public’s help Thursday in identifying two people believed to be stealing lottery tickets from convenience stores.

So far the duo, a man and a woman, are believed to have taken from seven different stores, said Chad Teller of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

“We believe that there are two people working together,” Teller said.
“One is distracting the clerk and the other one is going in and taking the lottery tickets.”

The thefts started around the beginning of July, he said.

One of the suspects is described as a man in his 30’s or 40’s who is between 185 and 240 pounds. He is heavyset with short dark hair.

The other suspect is a woman in her 20s. She is 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and between 135 and 150 pounds. She has either blonde hair or wears a wig.

They may be traveling in a newer-model black four-door sedan, possibly a Hyundai Elantra.

If you can identify the subjects or have any additional information on these cases, please call deputies at 303-759-6824.
