DENVER — Firefighters rescued two kayakers who got stuck on rocks on the South Platte River near Confluence Park Monday afternoon.

The kayakers got stuck around 1:30 p.m. while trying to go over the small falls on the river by REI, said Denver Fire Department spokesman David M. McGraill.

“They went basically nose-to-nose with a rock, which caused them to jam right in the middle of that waterfall,” McGraill said.

The diver team went to the rocks and was able to pull them free.

No one was injured.
