SANDUSKY, Ohio — Two inmates — including one who pleaded guilty to killing a 3-year-old boy in 2012 — got into a jailhouse fight last week over LeBron James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Michael Milner, who is awaiting sentencing for the murder, had his nose broken in the fight. The other man, Bryce Stokes, likely will face charges after the case goes to a grand jury.
The Sandusky Register reports the men were playing basketball inside the Erie County jail’s recreation area hours after James announced Friday he was returning to the Cavaliers.
Stokes told sheriff’s deputies he and Milner argued earlier and Milner tried to start a fight but Stokes brushed off the comments. Later while playing basketball, Milner tried fighting Stokes again.
Surveillance video shows the men playing basketball, then arguing. Milner chased Stokes around the court before Stokes deliver the blow that broke Milner’s nose. Deputies were alerted and broke up the fight.
Stokes was arrested July 5 on rape and gross sexual imposition charges for the alleged assault of a 13-year-old girl.
