Hugely successful young author Veronica Roth, whose “Divergent” trilogy has sold more than 22 million copies and inspired a new popular film by the same name, will appear to meet fans at the Tattered Cover/Highlands Ranch at 7 p.m. July 15.

Appearing with her at the book signing will be Margaret Stohl, co-author of the “Beautiful Creatures” series, which led to a 2013 film with that title.

I am appalled that the author/agent are requiring fans, whom are mostly children and their parents, to purchase a new/additional book in order to receive an autograph. What kind of message does that send to our young readers? I would say total greed! I understand that Tattered cover is using the proceeds for the tickets for low income readers, however, a lot of the readers wanting autographs are low income as well. They have also more than likely purchased movie tickets as well. Hasn’t the author and her people already made a fortune off of movie and books sales already?
