Jennifer Broome takes us on a trip to the lavender fields in Palisade.

Palisade is known for peaches and wine.  Among the orchards and vineyards is a lavender farm.  Lavender is a fairly new crop in Colorado.  Sage Creations Organic Farm is growing about 50 different varieties of lavender.  They offer agritours and you can pick your own lavender at the farm.  They also sell products infused with lavender.  Lavender harvest season is usually mid-June to mid-July.  There is a second blooming of some of the lavender in September.  Colorado’s only Lavender Festival is in Palisade this weekend, July 11-13.
