LOVELAND, Colo. — A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a sedan struck him while on his bicycle at an intersection in Loveland Saturday morning.

According to the Loveland Police Department, the accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of N. Taft Avenue and W. 29th Street.

Peggy Brown, 72, from Des Moines, Iowa was driving a white Mazda sedan northbound in the 2800 block of N. Taft Avenue while 40-year-old Jeffrey Wicks of Fort Collins was riding his bicycle southbound in the 2900 block of N. Taft Avenue, police said. Wicks had a green light and continued riding through the intersection. Meanwhile, Brown made a left turn onto W. 29th Street in front of Wicks. He crashed into the right rear panel of the sedan.

Police said Wicks suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash. He was later transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Following the accident, Brown stopped momentarily, police said. She then made a U-turn and drove east on 29th Street and turned south on Taft Avenue.

A witness followed Brown and called Loveland Police.

Officers eventually stopped Brown at E. Eisenhower Boulevard and N. Monroe Avenue.

She was arrested on careless driving causing injury, failure to notify police of an accident and failure to remain at the scene or render aid after an injury accident.

Brown was transported to a Larimer County jail, police said.

What is wrong with society, is also wrong with TV. You have no sensibilities or your would report how WRONG hit and run is.The news media has a moral right to profess BOTH sides of the story, This is an epidemic and until it is reported that these actions are wrong, then nothing will change. Be the change, or vote me into office and I will be a victims advocate! I will help…… I am jeff
