CAÑON CITY, Colo. — Police responded to a Cañon City home Thursday evening on a welfare check and discovered two bodies.

According to the Daily Record, Cañon City Police were dispatched to a residence on the 700 block of Whipple at approximately 11:27 p.m. Thursday after a communications officer was a no show for her late-night shift and did not answer any telephone calls.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the bodies of communications officer Priscilla Samento, 49, and her husband, Daniel Samento, 56, inside the home.

Daniel Samento was a retired Cañon City police officer, the newspaper reported.

Investigators said evidence is indicative of a possible murder-suicide.
