DENVER — The Denver Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Denver Broncos safety T.J. Ward, DPD confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Ward, 27, is wanted on a simple assault charge in connection with a dispute at a nightclub on May 10, police said.

The venue was described as a club near Hampden Avenue and Galena Street. PT’s All Nude strip club is in that vicinity.

Ward has not been arrested, police said.

“We have been aware of this issue and will continue to review all of the facts,” the Broncos said in a statement.

A former player for the Cleveland Browns, free agent Ward joined the Broncos on March 11 of this year. He signed a four-year contract for $23 million with $14 million guaranteed.
