DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office sent out a notice, stating that deputies are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in a child sex assault investigation.

Deputies said they have been investigating a sex assault case involving Joshua David Evans, 41, since January.

A warrant was issued for Evans on April 25 on alleged charges of sex assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

Deputies described Evans as 6-foot, 205 pounds, brown hair and green eyes. They added that he is associated with a 2008 dark blue Jeep Liberty with Colorado license plates 417XPK.

Authorities said they believe Evans is likely still in Colorado, but may be on his way to Nevada.

In the past, Evans worked as a radon gas inspector.

Anyone with information about Evans’ whereabouts is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
