DENVER — A 16-year-old boy was robbed as he walked to his school in Denver Wednesday morning.

According to Denver Police Department spokesman Sonny Jackson, the teenage boy was only a few blocks from the Denver School of the Arts at 7111 Montview Blvd. when he was robbed at gunpoint in an alleyway.

The boy sustained no injuries, but the suspect took his money and ran, added Jackson.

After the incident, the teen proceeded to school, where he then reported the robbery.

Police did not have a good description of the suspect, other than that he was a black male.

Jackson said Denver PD does not believe this incident is related to any of the store armed robberies that occurred over the past few days. Police have yet to determine if those are even related, he added.
