DENVER -- Getting in shape and staying healthy can take less time than you may think.
It’s time for the 2nd annual LiveWell Colorado Get Movin’ Challenge. The idea is to encourage Coloradans to get 30 minutes of exercise a day for 30 days beginning May 1.
Governor John Hickenlooper announced his support of the challenge saying, “Courtney Oldham has lost 50 pounds since doing the Get Movin’ Challenge last year."
She says, “I feel like I have my life back, I'm 34 years old and for a long time I was dealing with issues like arthritis and issues my senior parents were living with.”
Courtney adds that doing the challenge for 30 days is a great way to kick start a permanent change in your lifestyle. Doctors say getting just 30 minutes of exercise a day can protect against heart disease and diabetes.

Colorado has beautiful trails made for walking, running and biking.
The Civic Center Conservancy will hold free fitness sessions at Civic Center Park.
This year, the Get Movin’ Challenge will feature a competition between cities and towns across Colorado. Register to participate.
