Crash at East 72nd Avenue and Highway 2 in Commerce City

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A crash on Highway 2 at 72nd Avenue in Commerce City injured five people Friday afternoon.

A white Dodge Neon with five people inside went out of control on southbound Highway 2 and crashed into a black Yamaha motorcycle that was heading northbound.

The car flipped and landed on its roof.

The driver of the car and the motorcycle rider both went to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition. Two juveniles from the car were taken to Children’s Hospital in Aurora with less serious injuries. A fourth occupant of the car had minor injuries but did not need to go to the hospital.

Highway 2 was closed between East 72nd and East 74th avenues, and it was expected to remain that way for several hours into Friday night.

How did the Neon driver manage to do that?
So sorry for the motorcyclist. Hope that he/she can recover.
When riding, one assumes that drivers are competent enough to keep their vehicles in their lanes.
