DENVER -- A family from Oklahoma is hoping Colorado’s marijuana laws will save their daughter’s life.
Jaqie Warrior has a severe and deadly form of epilepsy. She can have up to 100 seizures in a single day which sometimes cause her to stop breathing.
Her parents said they have tried almost every epilepsy medication available, but none have worked.
They said they had no choice but to move to Colorado to try a medical marijuana oil, called CBD, instead.
Doctors said similar patients have used CBD to successfully suppress seizures, but there has been no clinical research conducted. CBD is not legal in Oklahoma.
Patients in Colorado can get it with a doctor’s approval.
