DENVER — An explosion at a Denver apartment building forced residents to evacuate Sunday morning.

The explosion happened at the French Quarter at Nine Mile Station apartments on S. Parker Road around 7 a.m., said a Denver Fire Department spokesman.

No injuries were reported. The fire was contained to a structure used as a laundry and mail room, firefighters said. The building was a free-standing structure that is not attached to any residential part of the complex.

The Denver Police Department and utilities workers were still investigating, but residents were allowed to return home Sunday afternoon.
