Murder suspect taken into custody by Weld County SWAT team

GARDEN CITY, Colo. –A man wanted for homicide was taken into custody early Friday morning by the Weld County SWAT Team, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said.

Noel Garcia was found with a female companion in the 600 block of 26th Street in Garden City, just south of Greeley, and tracked him to an apartment nearby.

After Garcia failed to leave the apartment, the Weld County SWAT team was activated and was able to take him into custody without incident about 6:30 a.m.

Besides homicide, Garcia was also wanted for failure to comply, escape from work release and failure to appear.
