COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A Colorado Springs police officer witnessed a suspect rob a convenience store from his police cruiser Tuesday evening.

According to KRDO, Chris Dryman, an officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department, sat at the intersection of 8th and Cimarron Street when he received a call regarding a robbery at a 7-Eleven market in the area — the call about the incident came into the station at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dryman told KRDO he saw a man with a hood over his head at the counter inside the 7-Eleven.

The CSPD officer said he tried to apprehend the male suspect as he fled the store. But the suspect was able to evade Dryman and escape in a car.

Police later identified the individual in the hood as 21-year-old Andrew Garcia.

Officers said they were able to track down the car Garcia escaped and pull it over, after which, three additional people were detained.

Garcia was arrested, and the three individuals detained from the vehicle are being investigated, police said — officers have yet to determine if the three people will face any charges.
