JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- Deputies received a 911 call Friday concerning a possible homicide at a south Jefferson County residence.

At approximately 9 p.m. Friday, deputies found a deceased female at 9383 W. Ontario Dr. after a neighbor called authorities to report a domestic disturbance at the home, said the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Saturday afternoon, deputies identified the victim at 34-year-old Michele Elaine Lucero.

Deputies believed 33-year-old Michael Allen Sommerfield, Lucero's common-law husband, to be the suspect in the murder case.

Sommerfield lived with Lucero at the home in which her body was discovered.

He had left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, but called later to turn himself in, said deputies.

Authorities arrested Sommerfield and booked him into the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

He is currently being held there without bond, added deputies, and his first court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m.

According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Sommerfield had a previous arrest for child abuse and was given a one-year deferred sentence, which has been dismissed.

Sad is KDVR reporters that repeatedly can’t give enough details to have an interesting story…For example “southern Jefferson County”, or for that matter “9383 W. Ontario Dr.” doesn’t tell anyone where the alleged crime took place. How about a town, please? Jefferson County, even “southern Jefferson County” covers quite a few towns…

4 girls lost there mother! One of them was in the 6th grade! They will never have her back, she is dead and they watched this scum shoot her. She was trying to get him out of her house, and their lives, because he was bringing in some pretty bad people! Me and my family live near this house. We heard these girls screams, crying, yelling, and sobbing, Every time these girls ever type their mother’s name into a search engine they will find his face first. And the only thing you give a s%^# about is that the reporter didn’t tell you it is unicorporated Littleton, which is so far from the city that we get Jeffco Sheriff and so that is how it is reported. Do you wanna go by and gawk at the house some too? Go look somewhere else if you want more information, but just remember that someones girls are going to be without their mom through every moment for the rest of their lives, through graduations, weddings, kids and grand kids. She will not be there. Pull your heads out and show respect without whining about the reporters “lack” of info.
