Popular St. Cajetan’s pastor dies at 76
DENVER — Theatine Father Tomás Fraile, pastor of Denver’s St. Cajetan Parish and a father figure to many in the local Hispanic Catholic community, died Wednesday, the Denver Catholic register reported.
Fraile, 76, was a native of Spain, but had been at St. Cajetan’s for 41 years, according to the paper.
Fraile was at St. Cajetan’s when the church moved its location from what is now the Auraria campus of Metropolitan State University downtown, to Alameda Boulevard and Raleigh Street in west Denver.
For 25 years Father Fraile appeared on his own weekly radio program, “La Hora Guadalupana,” originally on Radio Paco, then on Radio Bueno, predecessor to today’s KBNO.
